Yama for iPhone · iOS 17 or later

Write to us at feedback@playyama.com — or, in the game, open Settings and choose Feedback, which puts the game’s version in the subject line for you. A screenshot helps more than anything else.

Learning to play

Your first expedition opens with a guided round, and every new idea after it is explained the first time you meet it. The book at the top of the play screen is the Codex: every formation, Guardian, Hex and round rule, with what each one does. Settings › Explore the Screen lets you tap any part of the play screen to read what it is.

Where is my progress?

On your iPhone. The game saves as you play, and you can close it at any time and continue the same expedition later from the title screen. There is no account and no cloud sync: your progress moves to a new iPhone when you restore it from a backup, and deleting the game deletes it.

Roads and modes

Your first expedition is The Shallows. When it ends, win or lose, The Descent and The Abyss open. Finishing The Descent opens The Further Deep, the mode with no bottom. Winning a road at an Intensity level opens the next level of that road.

No sound?

Yama follows your iPhone’s ring/silent switch and plays alongside your own music or podcasts, so with the switch on silent the game is silent too. Volumes for the music and the effects, and the choice of soundtrack, are in Settings › Sound.

Comfort and accessibility

Game Center

Achievements are recorded through Game Center when you are signed in to it on your iPhone. The game plays exactly the same without it.

Purchases

There are none. Yama has no in-app purchases and no ads.
